Introduction to the AKWA

Established in 1979, AKWA is an organisation with a history and tradition of serving people of all ages in the community by specialising in the welfare of Koreans in Australia. The AKWA’s Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care Programme aims to provide a range of care and support services for seniors, enabling them to live independently at home for as long as they wish.

Housekeeping support

Help seniors apply for Aged Care programs and get assessments.

Support for Social Activities

Assist with the Community Home Support Program (CHSP) program based on the results of the assessment.

Personal Hygiene Support

Assist with the transition to the Home Care Packages (HCP) program through reassessment.

AKWA’s Day Care Centre

This program offers a variety of activities for Korean seniors to enjoy a fun and active lifestyle with other Korean seniors in a familiar and safe environment. Professionally trained staff facilitate group activities and provide individualised assistance, giving Korean seniors time to socialise through leisure and fellowship, while also providing respite for family, friends, or caregivers.
